1534639 Scrubbing offensive vapours QUAD CORP 1 Nov 1977 45427/77 Heading B1R [Also in Division Cl] Vapours from a rendering plant 1 containing offensive or foul smelling constituents e.g. alkyl sulphides, amines, aldehydes and ketones are purified by passing them to a condenser 3 where condensibles are removed and then to spray tower 8 into which an aqueous solution of NaOCI is sprayed from ultrasonic spray nozzles 9. Purified vapours are pumped away via 15 and liquids drained via 18.
