Abstract

1534271 Attachment device E JACKSON 19 Nov 1975 [9 Sept 1974] 39254/74 Heading E2B An attachment device for a picture, display cabinet or apparatus, comprising a shankreceiving member for receiving for example the shank of a headed screw or other fastening device, and a mounting device for rotatably mounting the shank-receiving member on a surface of a picture, display, cabinet or apparatus, wherein the shank-receiving member has a slot the longitudinal axis of which extends outwardly of the axis of rotation of the shank-receiver member and, in use when mounted by the mounting device is rotatable to direct the slot in or away from a predetermined direction to permit or prevent respectively access of a shank of a headed screw or other fastening device by relative movement between shank and slot in said predetermined direction. In an embodiment the shank-receiving member 10, Fig. 1, has a slot 14, a flange 12 and tongues 12a and is retained in an aperture of the mounting device 11 by the flange 12 and the tongues 12a, and the headed fastening device is a screw 13 which is supported by a wall. In another embodiment a shank-receiving member 18, Fig. 2, has lugs 19 which are slidably received in an annular recess 16 of a retaining ring 15. The member 18 is provided with a slot 20 and the ring 15 has mounting holes 17 therein. In modifications, the slot may be keyhole shape or formed from portions pressed out from the base of the shank-receiving member and the latter may be provided with a mounting hole for receiving a mounting device therein. In use a picture, for example, is supported by two shank-receiving members as shown in Fig. 3 and is fastened in position by rotating the shank-receiving members to the locations shown in Fig. 4 where the slots 14 are facing each other.
