Abstract

1532999 Mounting electric motor rotors UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 2 Aug 1976 [31 July 1975] 31997/75 Heading H2A A motor has a rotor shaft 16 mounted in spaced bearings 25, 26 carried by a cantilever support 27 which is fixed at one end to an end member 11 of the motor housing; the shaft 16 has a carrier 18 mounted adjacent the free end of the cantilever support 27, e.g. for carrying a magnet 17, and the shaft has an end adjustment device 30 secured thereto outside the housing. The device 30 shown is a force-fitted collar and is used to fix the spacing between bearing 25 and carrier 18.
