Abstract

1532690 Polyarylene sulphide coated bearing material GLACIER METAL CO Ltd 22 Aug 1977 [23 June 1976] 26011/76 Heading B2E [Also in Division F2] Bearing material is produced by applying powdered polyarylene sulphide to a substrate, e.g. of abraded aluminium alloy or copper plated steel strip having a sintered bronze layer on the side to which the polyarylene sulphide is applied, melting the polyarylene sulphide by induction heating of the substrate and quenching the coated substrate to ambient temperature. The coated substrate may be passed through the heating station at a rate between 1 and 10 feet per minute.
