Abstract

1532238 Cutting tools DIAGRIT GRINDING CO Ltd 16 July 1976 [12 Aug 1975] 33626/75 Heading B3B A turning tool comprises an elongate holder 10 of circular cross section having a semicircular recess at its end to receive an indexable insert 17, said recess having a surface 15 perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the holder and a surface 13 transverse to the said surface 15, and a screwed bore 16 extending from the surface 15 to receive a clamping screw 18 by which the insert 17 is clamped. The surface 15 may be angled slightly to provide cutting clearance. The insert has a raised annular collar to engage the surface 15 and a countersink on the opposite side to ac- commodate the head of the screw 18. The bore 16 may be angled slightly to ensure that the insert is clamped against the surface 13.
