Abstract
1530318 Wave activated electrical generator RYOKUSEISHA K K 12 Dec 1975 [13 Dec 1974] 51044/75 Heading F1S A water-wave activated electrical generating apparatus comprises a tube 1 adapted so that in use a part 2 of it projects above the surface of the water in which the apparatus is situated and the remaining part 3 is submerged, an air-turbine-driven electrical generator 5 being mounted at or adjacent the end of the tube 1 which in use is uppermost, a turbine wheel shaft 6 thereof being parallel to the tube axis and an air inlet valve 13 being provided in the part 2 of the tube 1. In operation when the water level in the tube 1 falls air is drawn in through valves 13 and when the water level subsequently rises this air is compressed closing the valves 13 and is forced via ports 10 to drive the turbine wheel 9 before escaping via an annular opening 26. The tube 1 is supported by a float 4.
