Abstract
1530222 Organotin compounds CHUGOKU MARINE PAINTS Ltd 11 Feb 1977 5727/77 Heading C2J [Also in Divisions C3 and C4] Antifouling agents of the formula wherein R 1 is an alkyl group having from one to eight carbon atoms, an aryl group having from six to eight carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl group having from three to eight carbon atoms, R 2 is an alkylene group having from one to four carbon atoms, and each of X 1 , X 2 , X 3 and X 4 is hydrogen, bromine, chlorine, iodine or methyl radical, provided that at least one of X 1 , X 2 , X 3 and X 4 is bromine, chlorine or iodine are prepared by the reaction of organotin compounds of formula (R 1 ) 3 SnX 5 wherein R 1 is the same as defined above and X 5 is Cl, Br, I, OH and Y 2 O with appropriate organic carboxylic acids.
