Abstract
1529351 Strip fasteners RAYCHEM SA NV 9 Jan 1976 [10 Jan 1975] 1101/75 Heading E2S [Also in Divisions B5 and F2] A closure device consists of a heat-shrinkable covering, or wrap-round, sheet 2 formed with ridges 4, 4A at or near opposed parallel edges 8, 8A, and an elongated, substantially C-section fastening clip 3 of a heat-recoverable material which is placed over ridges 4, 4A and heated, whereupon in its recovered formation, the clip holds these ridges tightly together. The recovery temperature of clip 3 is at least 20C higher than the shrink temperature of sheet 2. Clip 3 may be of a plastics or metallic material, many examples of which are disclosed. Thermochromic paint may be applied to the clip 3 to indicate the correct temperature.
