Abstract

1529055 Vehicle bodies JOHN RATCLIFF (TAIL LIFTS) Ltd 9 Oct 1975 [11 Oct 1974] 44102/74 Heading B7B In a known vehicle tail lift assembly the upright guide members thereof comprise a structural rear frame of an inverted U-shaped vehicle body and a platform 18 of the assembly is pivotable to form a lower part of a closure for the rear of the vehicle. As shown in Fig. 1, the platform 18 is pivotably attached to lift arms 16 having runners which slide in vertical guides 17. An hydraulic lift actuating mechanism operated electrically from the vehicle battery is provided in a cross beam 15 for operating cables in the guides 17. Flanges 20, 21 provided on columns 11, 12 provide a sealing engagement with the platform in its closed position. A tail flap (29), Fig. 4 (not shown), hinged to a cross member 14 forms the upper part of the rear closure.
