Abstract
1528119 1,1 - Dichloro - 1,3 - butadiene BAYER AG 8 Sept 1977 [17 Sept 1976] 37536/77 Heading C2C 1,1 - Dichloro - 1,3 - butadiene is prepared by dehydration of 1,1-dichloro - 1 - buten - 3 - ol in the presence of Al 2 O 3 as catalyst. The dehydration is preferably performed at 180- 250 C. The 1,1-dichloro-1-buten-3-ol is usually obtained by reduction of 1,1 -dichloro-1-buten-3- one with an alkali metal borohydride. The present process provides good yields and is economical.
