Abstract

1527410 Heating and ventilation system; solar heating VALMET OY 9 Dec 1976 [19 Dec 1975] 51361/76 Headings F4U and F4V A heating and ventilation system in a small house 10 or other building comprises an integrated unit trunk 20. Intake air, indicated at A, passes through gaps 14a and 14b, intake connections 21a and 21b, intake blower 23, heat transfer means 24, air heater 26, distribution duct means 27 and enters the house from under the floor through gaps 18 as indicated at B. This air flow is indicated by solid line arrows from A to B. A cooling radiator may also be employed. Circulating air enters the unit at E under control of a damper 28. Air is removed from the house, as indicated by the broken line from D to C 1 , by means of an exhaust air blower 25, the air passing through two portions 24a, 24b of the heat transfer means, e.g. of conventional lamellar structure. By operation in the above way, it is possible to recover part of the building's heat losses and part of the solar radiation on the building's outer cladding 12. Damper 22 allows more air to be taken from one side (e.g. the sunny side) of the building. The damper 22 may turn automatically, being guided by sensors and clock means (not shown). In an alternative mode of operation, e.g. during summer time, damper 29 is positioned so as to pass intake air directly to an exhaust duct 23. As shown, window 16 has an air gap 19 connected with the air intake gap 14a.
