Abstract

1526020 Chewable tablets LIFE SAVERS INC 24 Dec 1976 [24 Dec 1975] 54012/76 Heading A2B [Also in Division A5] A dry blended admixture comprising 10- 90% xylitol and 10-90% of another polyol e.g. sorbitol, mannitol, moltitol or hydrogenated starch hydrolysate is compressed to form chewable tablets. Also present may be flavourings, colourings, medicaments and lubricants e.g. Ca or Mg stearate. The examples relate to raspberry and peppermint flavoured confectionery, ascorbic acid tablets and chewable aspirin. A synthetic sweetener, e.g. Ca or Na saccharin, dihydrohalcones, glycyrrhizin, L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester, cyclamate, stevioxide, Miracle Berry or Serendipity Berry, may be included. The flavouring may be oil of wintergreen, spearmint, peppermint, clove, bay, anise, eucalyptus, thyme, cedar leaf, cinnamon, nutmeg, bitter almonds or cassia, or ascorbic, citric, lactic, adipic, malic or tartaric acid.
