From the exhaust gas continuously withdrawn from the treatment chamber (13) and containing NH3 gas, air and water vapour, the NH3 is continuously recovered and returned to the treatment process in a virtually anhydrous liquid form. The drawing illustrates a usable NH3 recovery plant. In the drawing (13) denotes treatment chamber; (27) denotes extraction line; (29) storage vessel for liquid NH3; (32) heat exchanger; (32a) denotes condensate water discharge line; (33) denotes cooling water feed line; (33a) denotes feed line for liquid ammonia; (34) denotes cooling water outlet line; (34a) denotes outlet line for liquid ammonia; (35) denotes outlet line for supercooled gases; (36) denotes saturation vessel; (37) denotes cold, liquid NH3; (38) denotes space for cooled gases; (39) denotes connection line between space (38) and suction side of a compressor (40); (40) denotes compressor; (41) denotes compressor drive motor; (42) denotes high pressure line for compressed gases; (43) denotes tube bundle condenser/heat exchanger; (44) denotes cooling water feed line; (45) denotes cooling water outlet line; (46) denotes high pressure line for liquid NH3; (47) denotes outflow line for uncondensed gases; (46) denotes NH3-cooled separator; (49) denotes condensate line to the saturation vessel (36); (50) denotes expansion valve; (51) denotes outlet line for liquid NH3; (52) denotes saturation vessel output line, leads via pump (53) and control valve (54) into the line (18) leading into the treatment chamber (13) with the treatment trough; (55 and 56) level sensors for controlling valve (57) in line (58) for the feed of liquid NH3 from the storage vessel (29) into the saturation vessel (36).
