Abstract

1525381 Polymerization of conjugated dienes MICHELIN & CIE 11 Feb 1977 [12 Feb 1976] 05794/77 Addition to 1516861 Heading C3P Conjugated dienes are polymerized using a catalyst consisting of an organolithium compound, a compound of Ba, Ca or Sr, an organometallic compound of a metal of Group IIB or IIIB of Mendeleef's Periodic Table and to increase the trans content an amino- or etheralcoholate of an alkali metal. In the examples butadiene is homopolymerized or copolymerized with styrene to polymers of 80 to 90% trans content using nBuLi, Banonylphenate, AlEt 3 and one of Et(OEt) 2 OLi, Et(OEt) 2 ONa, Et(OEt) 3 OLi or Et 2 NCH 2 CH 2 OLi.
