Abstract

1525080 Reading stands P CADOVIUS 4 Aug 1976 32451/76 Heading A4H A reading stand comprises a post 3 carrying a transparent V-shaped plate 10, the plate 10 having inwardly and outwardly extending book supporting flanges 11, 12, one of the flanges having resilient grippers 13, 14 that detachably engage an angled section 8 of an arm 7, a straight section of the arm 7 being mounted to a horizontal limb of a carrier 5 for rotation about its own axis, the carrier 5 having a vertical limb connected to the upper end of the post 3 for rotation about its own axis. The vertical limb of carrier 5 is adjustable in height relative to post 3 and is locked by a friction clamping device 4. Arm 7 is locked to carrier 5 by a friction locking device 6. Arm 7 can be detached from carrier 5. Carrier 5 can be detached from post 3 and a base 2 of post 3 may be detachable. The grippers 13, 14 comprise oppositely facing slotted tubes and are provided on flange 12 and/or flange 11.
