Abstract
1523721 Television HAWKER SIDDELEY DYNAMICS Ltd 22 Oct 1975 [29 July 1974] 33338/74 Heading H4F A wide angle television surveillance system comprises a plurality of differently orientated optical elements for viewing the total azimuth angle of the scene to be surveyed α# divided into a series of different equal azimuthal sections, and means for combining said different azimuthal sections of the scene to provide, in a television display for an observer or automatic monitoring apparatus, a corresponding plurality of sections arranged one above another in the display. The optical elements comprise a separate object lens L1-L3, Fig. 1, for each section, masks being used to restrict the angle of scene accepted by each lens, and the several azimuthal sections of the image scene being received on a detector surface D on areas alongside one-another. The total image formation is scanned by a T.V. camera having a tube 11, Fig. 3. A multi-facet optical fibre block 10 is mounted on tube 11. The facets 13-15 of the block are so orientated as to lie perpendicular to the optical axis of a respective object lens at its focal plane to correct for trapezium distortion.
