1523424 Cleaning moving surfaces XEROX CORP 31 March 1977 13613/77 Heading B6C A surface, e.g. of a photoconductive drum, advances past a cleaning device where a scraper blade engages the surface intermittently and a wiper blade engages the surface either continuously or alternately with the scraper blade. Where the surface of a drum has a discontinuity, e.g. a seam or a plugged gap where a replenishable receptor band wound around the drum enters and leaves the drum interior, the surface is engaged by a wiper blade in the region of the discontinuity and by a scraper blade over the remainder of the surface.
