Abstract
1522808 Intercalated graphite filaments F L VOGEL 13 Aug 1975 [23 Aug 1974] 33657/75 Heading C1A [Also in Division H1] In an intercalated electrically anisotropic non- exfoliated graphite filament the intercalating agents are: (a) hydrogen fluoride, and (b) a boron trihalide, a tetrahalide of a Group IV element, a pentahalide of a Group V element or their mixtures. The intercalated filament may be obtained by treating graphite filament with the intercalating agents or from intercalated graphite powder. Metal composites may be formed, e.g. by electroplating or by twisting metal wires with the intercalated filaments.
