1521912 Stabilizing glyceride oils INST ORGANICHE SINTEZA AKAD NAUK LATVII SSR and VSES N I VITAMINNY INST 17 Aug 1975 33081/75 Heading C5C Vegetable oils and animal fats (e.g. soya bean, mustard, corn or sunflower oils, lard or beef fat) are stabilized against oxidative spoilage by incorporating, preferably in an amount of 0À02 to 1% by weight, a 1,4-dihydropyridine derivative of general formula wherein R 1 is methyl, phenyl, C 1 -C 12 alkoxy, phenyloxy, benzyloxy, cinnamyloxy or cyclohexyloxy, R 2 is methyl or R 1 with R 2 is 2,2-dimethylpropylene and R 3 is H or carboxypropyl.
