Abstract
1521680 Grain-oriented silicon steel sheet BRITISH STEEL CORP 23 Sept 1975 [23 Sept 1974] 41353/74 Heading C7A Grain-oriented silicon steel is made from a slab containing C - 0À08 Si 2À5 - 3À5 by hot-rolling to strip, annealing at 850-1050‹C and cold-rolling to final gauge. The strip is then decarburized at 850-1050‹C to reduce carbon to <0À005% followed by final annealing at up to 1200‹C. Up to 0À1% Mu or 0À065% acid-soluble Al may be added to the steel. The decarburization may be preceded or followed by annealing at 800-850‹C.
