Abstract
1521003 Heat treatment APV CO Ltd 17 May 1977 [25 May 1976] 21686/76 Heading A2D A method of heat treating e.g. sterilising, flowable solids, with or without a carrier fluid such as a sauce comprises bringing the solids to a required temperature in a scraped surface heat exchanger, passing the solids through a holding drum by a screw conveyer filled with the solids to less than half the height of the screw, and cooling the solids in a further scraped surface heat exchanger.
