1520810 Equalizing GENERAL ELECTRIC CO Ltd 20 Dec 1976 [18 Dec 1975] 51861/75 Heading H4R In a regenerative pulse repeater for a p.c.m. system using multilevel pulses a variable gain amplifier 2 restores the signal to a standard level at the input to the pulse regenerator 3, with the gain of the amplifier 2 controlled by comparing the amplifier output with a reference signal derived by passing the output of the regenerator 3 through a network 10 which simulates the ideal characteristic of the transmission system prior to the regenerator 3.
