Abstract
1520736 Protective systems H W CHAU 2 July 1975 [3 July 1974] 29532/74 Heading H2K Arrangements are described which both indicate and protect against the occurrence of earth leakages and short circuits. Earth leakage results in a current on line 38 in phase with the secondary voltage of transformer 48. Amplifier 42 can then switch on during a positive half cycle to energize a meter relay 52 and thus, via relay 62, circuit breaker 24 and a latching relay 74 for lamp 78. Short circuit produces a sudden pulse of current through inductor 22 and the resultant induced voltage triggers either a thyristor 96 or another meter relay to energize a lamp relay 108 and the circuit breaker.
