Abstract
1520099 Photochromic lenses AMERICAN OPTICAL CORP 23 March 1977 [20 April 1976] 12305/77 Heading G2J A photochromic opthalmic lens or lens blank has a coating containing an ultraviolet absorber, in an amount which progressively increases between opposed edges of a zone of the lens. The coating reduces the photochromic properties of the coated areas. The coating is preferably applied so that distant-vision areas of the lens react photochromically and near-vision areas of the lens are free of photochromic behaviour, Fig. B.
