Abstract
1519398 Telecine RANK ORGANISATION Ltd 9 March 1977 [6 May 1976] 18586/76 Heading G2E [Also in Division H4] Flying spot telecine apparatus having a curved film gate and an objective lens with a field of focus curved towards the light source in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the film, also has a correction lens to increase the curvature of the field of focus in the longitudinal direction and to decrease the curvature of the field of focus in the transverse direction. As shown, the surface 5 of a correction lens 7 facing cine film 2 to be televized is convex in the longitudinal direction and concave in the transverse direction, the opposite surface being planar. The correction lens is situated in the film gate, the longitudinal edges 6 of the lens acting as runners for the edges of the film. The apparatus also comprises flying spot scanner 8, objective 9 and further lens 10 for focusing on to a detector.
