Abstract

1518859 Latched needles MATHBIRK Ltd 12 Nov 1976 [11 Dec 1975 20 Dec 1975] 50933/75 and 52292/75 Heading DIG A needle with a painted end 12 and a cutout 13 in the shank has pivoted a latch 16 to close the cutout which when open lies with its end substantially within the circumference of the shank. The latch has a spoon shaped end 20 to overlie a nib 14 of the cutout when closed. A heel portion 18, 18a of the latch is designed to be engaged by a yarn entering the cutout to partially close the latch which is fully closed by withdrawal through a fabric.
