Abstract
1518495 Liquid coating compositions BAYER AG 11 May 1977 [15 May 1976] 19786/77 Heading C3R A liquid coating composition comprises a solvent and, as binder, (A) 5-30% by weight of an aminoplast and (B) 70-95% by weight of a linear polyester of molecular weight 2500 to 5,000 derived from (i) phthalic acid/anhydride and (ii) 9-20 mol per cent of 1,6-hexanediol and 80-91 mol per cent of a mixture comprising 20-69À9 mol per cent of ethylene glycol and 31À1-80 mol per cent of neopentyl glycol, optionally with 2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol. The coating composition may contain conventional additives and may be coated on aluminium sheet. Additional reactants used in preparing the polyesters in the Examples are terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and adipic acid.
