Abstract

1518142 Moulding on to gun barrel WEBLEY & SCOTT Ltd 23 April 1976 [23 April 1975] 16769/75 Heading F3C [Also in Division B5] A small arm (high velocity air pistol, rifle or fire arm) is produced by moulding a synthetic plastics body 13 around a metal chamber 10. The chamber comprises coloured and finished metal having ribs, knurls or grooves (17) (Fig. 2, not reproduced) and a welded end (18). The chamber 10 is placed in the polished dies of an injection moulding machine, and the coloured plastics (eg. acetal-copolymer or -monomer, or glass fibre reinforced nylon) is injected. After mould removal, the plastics is machined and tapped for mounting the trigger assembly 15, handle panels 14, back sight 20, and barrel 11 hinged at 12 for cocking. The chamber 10 comprises a pump sub-assembly.
