Abstract

1517690 Rope-securing device B J FARROW 13 Oct 1975 [11 Oct 1974] 44062/74 Addition to 1354007 Heading E2A A rope-securing device comprises a drum with a groove on its cylindrical surface and flanges 16 and 17', the latter being the wider, on its ends. The groove is in three portions, the first 18 being annular and at one end, the second being helical and leading to the other end and the third 20 also helical leading back again. A slot 22' is cut in the larger flange 17'. In use a rope lies in the groove with one part held between the drum and the part of the rope overlying the first portion and then passing through the groove 22'. A plurality of holes 10 passing through the boss parallel to the central axis thereof are provided to attach it to a support by screws.
