Abstract

1515918 Buckles EMBALEX Ltd 12 Sept 1975 [5 Aug 1975] 37625/75 Heading E2A A strap-buckle is formed from a single piece of wire by bending it into two U- shaped parts 12, 13, 14 and 17, 18, 19 respectively of which one limb of each part overlies a limb of the other, the two parts being joined by an intermediate portion 21 which is kinked up at its ends 22 so as to provide lateral abutment shoulders for the free ends of the wire to rest against when under stress. In the form shown, the top arms 12, 17 are displaced, Fig. 2, by a wire width from the underlying arms 13, 18 but they may lie directly over them (Figs. 5-7, not shown) or in an intermediate position (Figs. 9 and 10, not shown). By this means straps of various frictional characteristics may be secured (Figs. 11-13, not shown). Hybrid buckles are described.
