Abstract

1515511 Spray-producers E J BALS 22 May 1975 [15 March 1974] 11613/74 Heading B2F In a rotary atomiser, a rotating member 6 is provided which has an inclined peripheral wall 8 the inner surface of which is grooved and the outer edge toothed, Fig. 3 (not shown). The atomiser comprises the member 6, a body 1 having a frusto-conical end 4, a motor 2 which rotates the member 6 by drive shaft 5 connected to a boss 9 of the member 6, and a liquid feed tube 14 which is formed integrally with the body and connected to a liquid supply at one end and to the member 6 at its other end by bore 21 and groove 20. An orifice 17 regulates the rate of flow of liquid to the member 6. A labyrinth seal 22 seals the liquid from the motor. The member 6 is a one-piece synthetic plastics moulding. The atomiser may be used for agricultural spraying.
