Abstract

1515469 Safety engine mounting CHRYSLER FRANCE 11 May 1976 [27 June 1975] 19396/76 Heading B7B An engine block resiliently mounted in a vehicle body and connected by a propeller shaft to a driven axle tends to tilt upwardly and into the vehicle passenger compartment as a result of a collision but the co-operating elements 13 between the rear portion 4a of the engine block and a underframe cross member 24 prevents this tilting. The arrangement 13 comprises a hook 15 secured to the member 24 which penetrates, with play, an eye 14 secured to the engine block so as not to participate in the normal suspension of the engine block.
