Abstract
1515450 Endless track vehicles CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 12 Nov 1976 [29 April 1976] 47261/76 Heading B7H In a track for an endless track vehicle having a dual drive sprocket 12 with two spaced rims 16, 17, and a plurality of track rollers 23 with a single rim 24 of less width than the distance between the rims 16, 17, each of a plurality of track shoes 25 pivotally connected by links 29, 30 and hinge pins 37 has bolted thereto a replaceable wear member 40 having a body portion 44 defining a rail surface 45 for running engagement with the rollers 23, and a pair of integral driving lugs 49, 50 extending from opposite sides of the body portion 44 for engagement with the respective rims 16, 17 of the drive sprocket 12. The rail surfaces 45 of the wear members 40 are disposed at substantially the same level as the axes of the hinge pins 37 to minimise gapping between the rail surfaces during flexing of the track. Shims may be fitted between the track shoes 25 and wear members 40 after a predetermined amount of wear has taken place to extend the useful life of the wear members.
