Abstract

1514631 Carburetters; controlling IC engines NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 13 Jan 1976 [20 Jan 1975] 01163/76 Heading F1B and F1H In order to supply an I.C. engine exhaust cleaning catalyst 52 with exhaust gases with a composition which is optimum for the catalyst to detoxify them, the supply of emulsifying air to a carburetter well 44 is controlled by an electrically actuated valve 56 in dependance upon the composition of the exhaust gases measured by a probe (e.g. O 2 -probe) 64. As there is a tendency for the mixture to become too lean when the throttle valve 20 is suddenly opened to accelerate, a throttle-operated accelerator pump 80-94 is provided to enrichen the mixture in these circumstances.
