Abstract

1513470 Anti-burst fastening PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 27 Oct 1975 [30 Oct 1974] 44111/75 Heading E2A [Also in Division D1] An anti-burst device is included in the door of a washing machine drum. The door comprises two door sections 1, 2 fixed at either side of the drum by spring-loaded hinges, the sections opening towards the outside by pressure towards the inside of the drum. One door 1 has hooks 5 and the other door 2 slots 6 in its edge 8. The safety device comprises an elastic strip 9 fixed at one end to one door section and having a stop 11 for the edge of door section 2. The strip and stop 11 prevent relative translational movement of the ends of the door sections, Fig. 1a. Pressure on a button 12 releases the stop 11 and permits the hooks to be disengaged, Fig. 1d. A stop 17 secured to the door section 1 limits the upward movement of the strip.
