Abstract

1513240 Mirrors COMBINED OPTICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 1 Oct 1975 [2 Oct 1974] 42798/74 Heading G2J [Also in Division B7] A vehicle rear view mirror comprises a closed box structure 1, 2 supporting a generally convex reflective surface 3, which is formed on a wall of the box structure, the reflective surface 3 having a curvature which is greater at sides of the surface than in a central region. The latter region is delimited as shown by ridges 6, 7 moulded on the interior of a box member 1 of transport plastics material metallized to form the reflective surface 3. Box member 1 has slots 12, 13, 14 and 15 to receive elasticated bands 10, 1 by which member 1 is held on to plastics lid 2 of the box. The bands 10 and 11 also serve to attach the mirror to an existing mirror 30 in a vehicle as shown in Fig. 3, the lid 2 being provided with plastics foam strips 100 to prevent damage to the existing mirror.
