Abstract
1511999 Nickel alloy INCO EUROPE Ltd 18 March 1977 [24 March 1976 16 Nov 1976] 11581/77 Heading C7A A nickel-based alloy with good heat and corrosion resistance properties, suitable for use in gas turbine applications i.e. blades, contains:- Cr 11À5 - 16 W and/or Ta 0 - 5 where W is not more than 3% and Cr + 1/3 (Ta+W)= 13À5 - 17À5% each, S and P at minimal levels. The optimum properties are achieved by a double heat treatment of 1 - 3 hours at 1090‹-1150‹C (preferably 1120‹C) Air cooling 20-30 hours at 815‹-870‹C (preferably 843‹C) Air cooling. to provide a duplex gamma-prime structure in a gamma matrix with discrete chrome-carbides at the grain boundaries.
