Abstract

1510705 Separating hydrocarbons BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 16 March 1976 [9 April 1975]14548/75 Heading C5E A vapour phase process for separating nparaffins boiling in the kerosine or gas oil range from a feed mixture thereof with non-straightchain hydrocarbons by means of a bed of a 5Š molecular sieve, comprises (i) an adsorption stage in which the feed mixture is passed into the bed and an effluent is produced from which the n-paraffins have been at least partly removed, (ii) a wash stage in which a mono-nuclear aromatic hydrocarbon in the vapour phase is passed into the bed, and (iii) a desorption stage in which the n-paraffins are desorbed from the bed.
