Abstract

1510754 Rear-view mirrors MARKLIN & CIE GmbH Gebr 24 June 1976 26347/76 Heading B7J A remotely-controlled rear-view mirror assembly comprises a mirror glass 20 mounted on a carrier 1 in turn, universally mounted on a ball 4 secured on a base 2 and engaging a socket 7 secured to the carrier, the adjustment of the carrier 1 relative to the base 2 being effected by electric motor-driven spindles 10, 11 each having thereon a threaded portion 12, 13, respectively, connected via a respective two-part nut 18, 19 pivoted at 16, 17 in a cage 8 in turn pivoted on pivots 14, 15 in a respective tubular member 9 supported in the carrier 1. The ball 4 is surrounded by a tubular portion extending from the carrier 1. The carrier has two depending posts 5 on diametrically opposite sides of the ball 4 and base 2 has two diametically opposed upstanding posts 6. The pairs of posts 5, 6 engage in openings at the corners of a sheet metal spring cross piece 3 engaging the tubular portion of the carrier 1. If one spindle is rotated the carrier 1 will be pivoted on the ball 4 against the action of the spring 3.
