Abstract

1510076 Coated fuel cell electrodes UNITED TECHNOLOGIES CORP 20 Aug 1976 [2 Sept 1975 (2)] 34728/76 Heading B2E [Also in Division H1] An electrolyte - retaining matrix is formed on a fuel cell electrode (see Division H1) by coating through a screen. The coating composition comprises matrix material, e.g. silicon carbide in a P.T.F.E. binder, together with an aqueous carrier which may be mixture of ethylene glycol and water or polyethylene oxide / water. The resulting product is heattreated to remove the carrier and sinter the matrix.
