Abstract
1509383 Hatch covers K W LEE-KEMP 23 May 1975 22681/75 Heading B7A A deck hatch comprises frames 1, 2 having side portions extending from a hinged connection 3, the side portions defining an angle therebetween when the hatch is opened. Sleeve 4 is pivotally connected to point 6 on the side of frame 2 and a member 7 slidable in the sleeve has a length, with respect to the sleeve and point 6, which allows relative pivoting of the frames through 180 degrees. The member 7 has one end pivotally connected to a point 9 on the side of frame 1 remote from the hinged connection 3. Point 6 is spaced from the hinged connection so that the side of frame 1 and the axes of member 7 and the sleeve are inclined to each other as the hatch is opened through an intermediate position in which the frames are at an angle of 90 degrees to each other, and a perpendicular from point 9 to the side of frame 2 passes between point 6 and the hinged connection. In the embodiment shown member 7 has a cranked end 8 and frame 1 is glazed.
