Abstract

1508638 Drying particulate materials SIMPLEX OF CAMBRIDGE Ltd 26 Nov 1976 [28 Nov 1975] 48995/75 Heading F4G An apparatus for drying particulate or granular material, e.g. grain, rice, coffee, cocoa and oil seeds, comprises a structure providing a gravity flow path for the material from an input 1 to an outlet 5 through one or more heating sections 8, 9 having spaced heatexchanger ducts (15) and a cooling section 11 having means, e.g. spaced perforated tubes, for passing air through the section. Air and combustion gases are circulated by a fan 22 through the ducts (15), some being bled off at 23 and mixed with air from the section 11 and drawn by a fan 20 through a pre-drying section 7. The section 11 may dispense with the perforated tubes, the air being passed in and out via perforated walls 19.
