Abstract
1508184 Oxidation resistant ferrous alloy CABOT CORP 21 May 1975 [22 May 1974] 21748/75 Heading C7A A hot and cold workable oxidation resistant iron-based alloy contains: C 0À05-0À7 Nb 0-0À3 Co 15-30 Cr 18-25 Mn 0-2 Mo 1-6 where N 0À10-0À30 Nb and Ta > 0À4 Ni 15-30 Si 0À2-0À8 Ta 0À1-2 W 1-10 Zr 0-0À1 Al 0À1-0À5 La 0-0À1 Fe Bal > 23 with impurities i.e. B, Ti, Mg, Cu, S, P, V, Ca to a max. of 0À6%. The alloy has good high temperature tensile, creep, fatigue and oxidation resistance and may be used as a more economic substitute for super alloys. Optimum properties are achieved when C + N > 0À25.
