1507089 Ring spinning machines COGNETEX SpA COGNE MACCHINE TESSILI 15 Dec 1975 [28 Feb 1975] 51207/75 Heading DID A traveller locating and positioning device for a ring spinning machine comprises two pivotal traveller entraining curved arms 6 supported for reciprocal movement towards and from a spindle 2 whereby the arms are raised during their forward stroke towards the spindle 2 and the return stroke takes place substantially in the plane of the ring. The curved arms 6 are opened and closed during reciprocation by cams so that the traveller is entrained by the arms during the return stroke as they describe semicircular paths sweeping around the ring from a common starting point to a predetermined position in which the traveller is finally located. As described, when a yarn break is detected, piston 17 moves the group forward so that a roller runs up cam 16 to raise the group, along cam 15 towards the ring and then allow the group to descend to bring brushes 8 mounted at the end of arms 6 into contact with the far side of the ring. The group is then returned and the brushes move around the circumference of the ring dragging the traveller 5 to the front position of the ring.
