Abstract

1505362 Orthodontic appliances M WALLSHEIN 28 April 1975 17506/75 Heading A5R [Also in Divisions C3] An orthodontic appliance comprises a plurality of brackets 2 for receiving an arch wire 4 and an elongate elastic band 8 of non-uniform cross section, whereby, during fitting of the appliance, the band is woven in a stretched condition between brackets 2 to extend through channels at the top and bottom of each bracket 2 and to grip the end edge of the channels with wider diameter portions. Various alternative forms of the elastic bands are proposed, Figs. 2-11 (not shown).
