Abstract

1504904 Ignition generators ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 22 May 1975 [25 Oct 1974] 22156/75 Heading H2A An ignition distributor for an I.C. engine includes an ignition generator of the inductor type comprising a stator which is angularly adjustable and axially extending teeth 28 magnetized by a permanent magnet 17, the teeth interacting with teeth 29 on a rotor 14, the magnetic circuit being completed through a driving bush 9 which carries the rotor and is rotatably mounted on a distributor shaft 3. The stator comprises the annular, axially magnetized permanent magnet 17 and a polepiece 16 carrying the teeth 28, the magnet and polepiece forming, together with a stator plate 18, a single unit which is angularly adjustable in response to a vacuum advance mechanism. The driving bush 9 is driven by the distributor shaft 3 through a centrifugal advance mechanism 4. The output coil 15 is secured to a mounting plate 19 by screws 22 which pass through arcuate slots in the stator unit. For a four cylinder I.C. engine, the rotor and stator both have four teeth. For a six cylinder engine the rotor and stator have six and three teeth respectively, Fig. 4 (not shown). For an eight cylinder engine the rotor and stator have eight and four teeth respectively, Fig. 3 (not shown).
