Abstract

1503580 Injection moulding machines INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 7 May 1975 [7 May 1974] 19108/75 Heading B5A A device for incorporation in a press having a mould 7 situated between its platens 2, 3, comprises a device 22 for feeding elastomeric material to a compression chamber 27 and an injector 30 for connecting the chamber 27 to the mould 7, and is characterized in that in the mounted position of the device in the press, the longitudinal axis of the feed device 22 and compression chamber 27 are parallel to the press platens, and the axis of the injector is perpendicular to those axes. Injection is effected by a piston 28, a one-way valve 33 preventing return of the material to the feed device 22. The latter includes a screw 23. A second feed device and compression chamber may be arranged between the mould 7 and the lower platen 2. The invention is applied to the injection moulding of pneumatic tyres.
