Abstract

1503349 Blowpipes WILLIAM ALLDAY & CO Ltd 31 Oct 1975 [19 Nov 1974] 45573/75 Divided out of 1503320 Heading F4T A blowpipe includes a main body 11 having means for mixing gas and air and carrying a combustion nozzle 13 and being mounted on a handle 12, inlet ducts 15 and 16 for gas and air extending longitudinally of the handle, one duct being provided with a valve 30 comprising a tubular member 33 carrying a screwthreaded collar 31 coaxial with the duct and manually rotatable so that an inward construction 34 co-operates with a valve seat 33 on the tubular member to control flow in that duct. The collar 31 is in threaded engagement with a tubular member 32 having the valve seat 33 with which the constriction 34 on the collar coacts. The valve 30 preferably controls air flow to a chamber 22 surrounding an extension 20 of a needle valve 17 for controlling gas flow, which extension terminates in a jet 21. The nozzle 13 is mounted on a tubular extension 14 which is curved so that the axis of the nozzle is at an angle to that of the body 11. The nozzle is preferably of the kind specified in parent Specification.
