Abstract

1502266 Moulding composite articles AIRFIX INDUSTRIES Ltd 28 May 1975 [28 May 1974 26 June 1974] 23665/74 and 28442/74 Heading B5A A composite article is made by clamping flexible blank sheet material 2, 3 between opposing surfaces of two mould tools 5, 6 with edges to be seamed juxtaposed, one of the opposing surfaces including a recess 11 spanning the juxtaposed edges, and injecting material into that recess to bond the edges together, the recess being so shaped (e.g. by deeper regions 15) as to provide a preferred flow path for said material along which the material will flow and firmly press the blank sheet material against the opposite mould face in order to prevent material flowing from seam region 7 to the side of the sheet material remote from the recess.
