1501818 Switchgear structures Y S RIMAN A P POLTORAK S S NEDOSEKOV N A TARABRINA V I GALENKO N T KRASILNIKOV F I KUKENKO V G MIRONENKO A M KHARCHENKO and J S LEVCHUK 29 April 1976 17583/76 Heading H1N Electrical switchgear for use in an explosive atmosphere has a casing 1 in which there are two conductor chambers 6, 8, a main switch chamber 2 and an isolator chamber 4, wherein the isolator chamber has two of its walls 15, 16, formed from plates which carry connecting terminals 14, 19 and which are separate from the casing and spaced apart with the contacts of the isolator 5 arranged therebetween. These two walls 15, 16 of the isolator chamber may be interconnected by posts 17 and have flange surfaces which co-operate with flange surfaces 27, 28, of the casing. The other walls of the isolator chamber are part of the casing 1 or in a further embodiment, Fig. 4, not shown, the side walls of the isolator chamber may also be separate from the casing 1. An interlocking arrangement connected to the isolator operating handle 23 prevents the lid 11 of the main switch chamber being opened unless the isolator has been operated to isolate the main switch 3.
